Increase WLAN Speed & Coverage Cost-Effectively
Significantly expand your wireless speed, coverage and user
support with this easy to install 11g upgrade kit. The 11g radio
supports an additional 128 users at speeds up to 54 Mbps at
distances up to 100 meters (328 feet). The upgrade kit contains
everything you need to add 11g wireless support to the 3Com
Wireless Access Point 8200, 8500, or 8700 in minutes.
Because the 802.11g standard is backward-compatible with
802.11b, you can inexpensively upgrade or scale your existing
802.11b network, preserving your initial equipment investment.
Or, add the 11g kit to a upgradeable 3Com access point to
cost-effectively mix and expand wireless support for all three
802.11 clients -11b, 11a, and 11g-within the same coverage area.
Important: If the access point is used with an external antenna
you must also purchase an antenna cable. For maximum efficiency,
use the shortest antenna cable possible. Antenna cables induce
signal loss, which will limit the radiated power output and
range of the access point. Of the options available, we
recommend the 3Com 6-Foot Antenna Cable (3CWE480).

installation locations
